Tackling anti-social behaviour, disorder and nuisance driving

Your North Neighbourhood Policing Team continues to focus on the priorities identified by local communities:

Here's an update on some of the recent work that has taken place to address these concerns.
 

Speeding and anti-social driving:

Following concerns raised by residents across both urban and rural communities, officers continue to tackle speeding, dangerous driving and nuisance vehicle use through enforcement, engagement and targeted patrols.

Speed checks have recently taken place in:

Werrington, Walton, Paston, Barnack, Pilsgate, Helpston, Bainton, Marholm and Northborough.

Officers have also conducted patrols at Werrington Skate Park, Dukesmead and Walton to address reports of anti-social behaviour and provide reassurance to residents.

In addition, neighbourhood officers recently attended a newly formed Community SpeedWatch group operating on Fulbridge Road in Paston and Walton, supporting local volunteers who are helping to tackle speeding concerns in their area.

Anti-social behaviour in open spaces:

We continue to receive reports of anti-social behaviour involving nuisance vehicles and groups of young people in popular outdoor locations, including Ferry Meadows, Eye Green Nature Reserve and Cuckoo's Hollow.

These areas attract more visitors during the warmer months, and officers are working closely with partner agencies to help ensure they remain safe and enjoyable for everyone.

To support this work, the team has carried out detailed analysis of reports and local information to help identify patterns and ensure resources are targeted where they are needed most.

As part of ongoing efforts to tackle the issue, officers will be carrying out four dedicated days of action during August and September.

Tackling disorder around licensed premises:

Addressing anti-social behaviour and disorder linked to pubs, bars and other licensed venues remains a priority across northern Peterborough.

This work supports wider efforts to keep people safe during the evening and night-time economy, particularly during the busy summer months when there is often increased demand on policing services.

Neighbourhood officers continue to engage with licensed premises across the area alongside the force's licensing officer. Officers have also obtained evidential statements from landlords and managers at some of the most affected venues to support criminal investigations and applications for civil orders where appropriate.
